Master Daniel Thornton is a 6th Degree Black Belt, has over 34 years experience in Taekwondo and over 25 teaching and coaching. Master Thornton is currently the Head Coach of Taekwondo BC and sits on the board as the Secretary General. He is also in the National Coaching Pool and has been a Team Canada Coach for 3 years in a row. Through his dedicated leadership Woo Kim Surrey Taekwondo has become very successful in the competition scene.
Shane is a 2nd Degree Black Belt, has over 3 years experience teaching, is fantastic with children and is an exceptional leader. Shane is not only an assistant instructor but he is also one of the top competitors in the country. Shane is a 3 time national champion and has represented Canada at the Pan-American Championships and the World Championships.
Ethan is a 1st Degree Black Belt and has 2 years experience teaching and assisting with the After School Program. Ethan is also one of our high performance athletes that competes around the world. His most recent accomplishments include winning the 2015 Canadian National Championships and representing Canada at the Pan-American Championships where he won the Bronze Medal.
Master Jessica Lee is a 4th Degree Black Belt. She has over a year of teaching experience. She is part of our competition team and was previously a Poomsae competitor in Taiwan. She is currently studying Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, and will be joining us during her co-op work terms.
