Grandmaster Daniel Thornton is a 7th Degree Black Belt, has over 35 years experience in Taekwondo and over 25 teaching and coaching. Grandmaster Thornton is currently the Head Coach of Taekwondo BC and sits on the board as the Secretary General. He is also in the National Coaching Pool and has been a Team Canada Coach for 3 years in a row. Through his dedicated leadership Woo Kim Surrey Taekwondo has become very successful in the competition scene.
Master Shane Britton is a 4th Degree Black Belt, has over 4 years experience teaching, is fantastic with children and is an exceptional leader. Master Shane is not only an assistant instructor but he is also one of the top competitors in the country. Shane is a 3 time national champion and has represented Canada at the Pan-American Championships and the World Championships.
Ethan is a 1st Degree Black Belt and has 2 years experience teaching and assisting with the After School Program. Ethan is also one of our high performance athletes that competes around the world. His most recent accomplishments include winning the 2015 Canadian National Championships and representing Canada at the Pan-American Championships where he won the Bronze Medal.
Master Jessica Lee is a 4th Degree Black Belt. She has over two years teaching experience. She is part of our competition team and was previously a Poomsae competitor in Taiwan. She is currently studying Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, a member of the Campus Response Team, and a student trainer for collegiate sports teams. Jessica will be joining us during her co-op work terms as an instructor and student sport therapist.
